These Boots Are Made For Walking.

Yesterday, on my day off, I treated myself to a little walk up to Corstorphine (I know, get me... treating myself with a walk... I'm so good to me!) Thought I'd have a wee wonder round the charity shops, an absolute FAVE past-time.

As per usual, fell in complete love with a pair of boots in the first shop I stepped into. Ended up leaving them at first and not trying them on as there are about a gazillion wee shops in the area and didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket ken. So ventured round the rest and even went for a wee coffee and cake before I returned.

I'd totally set myself up for a fall just incase someone else as gone in a scooped up them thar boots.... Thankfully they were still there and my size... IT WAS MEANT TO BE. They are a little similar to the image above, however they are not Kurt Geiger but still as gorge.

Fringe Fever.

My FAVOURITE time of year has sadly come to an end. Here's a little selection of some of the delights that I have been privileged to see...

Julien Cottereau- A delightful and wonderful show brought to the fringe by this french mime artist/clown. Imagine-Toi takes the audience on a magical adventure through imagination, of
scary mons
ters and princesses with tenderness and emotion with humour
and grace. An excellent show for all ages. One I would gladly go see again and would be en-captivated by. MUST. GO. SEE.

Circus Trick Tease- A trio act whose circus act of tricks, flips, lifts and swing-dancing which is utterly hilarious for all the family (with some rather raunchy bits!) Such fun from beginning to end.

Kevin Bridges- The young (he's the same age as myself) Glaswegian comedian who is climbing up the fame ladder. My first time seeing him live and he did not disappoint! Talking on working in TK Maxx, Easter holidays not 'spring-break' and having an 'empty' house party. Had both my sister and I in stitches. GENIUS!

Alan Cumming- My parents and I were lucky enough to get tickets to see this magnificent show titled 'I Bought A Blue Car Today'. He only did 4 shows at the festival! Based on his perso
nal journey moving from Scotland to New York, featuring music from the likes of Sondheim, Bacharach and Kander and Ebb, with stories and anecdotes weaved through. TRULY SMASHING!

What a great festival it has been this year! Swear I say that every year...

Dame Of Dames.

As this year both my parents have celebrated their 50th, it has been very special. Dad was given lots of football/film/comedy memorabilia as presents, whereas my Mum received lots of artwork and JEWELS!!!!

Sadly, I no longer live at home so cannot 'borrow' some of these beautiful jewellery she has recently become an owner. One piece of late (which is my current fave) is her Vivienne Westwood necklace. Tis a gorgeous silver tarnished necklace with the famous VW emblem with violet crystals. It. Is. So. Pretty. She got it from her dear cousin Sarah who lives in York and went on to tell Mum of how beautiful the VW shop is there.

I have now bec
ome obsessed with this jewellery line and pictured are some that are now added to my wish list. I wish to be draped in jewels :)

The Queen Bee.

I am sad that it has come to the end of the latest series of 'Mary: Queen of Shops'. I. Flippin. Love. Her.

Mary Portas is so amazing and speak so much sense (I'm a viewer who gets mad when the people seeking her advice question/disagree with her... What do they know!?)

Really liked the episode of the vintage boutique in London. Genius. I do hope they make another series.

Postcard From The Penguin.

On a cheeky wee visit back to me hometown of North Berwick, I popped into a new shop which has appeared called Tippencanoe. This little shop on the top of the high street caters to a delights of home-furnishings, cards, trinkets and books.

On having a right good gander I came across a little box (at first glance I thought it was a book) which holds one-hundred postcards of the iconic Penguin book covers.

They are absolutely delightful and now some feature framed on my bedroom wall, I have plenty left over to play with.

I feel an inspired collection may be brewing... WATCH. THIS. SPACE.

Bewitching Jewels.

What a wonderful Sunday it has been! Went out for a coffee/pastry with a dear friend and a look round the more expensive shops of Edinburgh. I love to pretend to have the money to afford their pretty goods they have to offer.

While having a right good spy at all the designer lines, I was stopped in my tracks by the most magnificent clutch. The Alexander McQueen knuckle-duster clutch to be exact! Just look at it... sheer beauty!

This has also made me desire and wish for one of McQueen's cocktail rings. If anyone is reading and wished to buy me a present in the near future, the antique gold-tone plated brass skull cocktail ring with bumble-bee swarovski crystals would do nicely, thank you very much!

Dead Fashionable.

While on my travels to work on Thursday I was having my daily intake of world information through the form of the wonderful free newspaper the Metro, I came across a little image and teeny-tiny article about Timorous Beasties. A company who I have had the pleasure of work experience, I naturally took interest. To much of my surprise (as to many others I can imagine) they have launched their first range of designer headstones!

All just for a mere 2,500 spondoulies and six week to deliver you can be the most en-vogue within the graveyard. Teehee!

Fashion Face.

I am so happy to hear that Topshop are now expanding even further and are bringing out their own cosmetics line. This limited-edition collection is inspired by the fun-loving musical get- goers with their creative make-up skills and styles.

This will be available from the end of May. EXCITINGS!

Just A Little Aperitif.

I am currently (and finally!) working on a new collection of work of which I have apply named 'Country Bumpkin'.

The design above is just something that I've been playing about with, I want to incorporate more drawing within this collection. WATCH. THIS. SPACE.

Louie, Louie... Woah Woah!

I officially heart Pineapple Dance Studios' creative director Louie Spence! Only having seen one full episode of the programme, I have been exposed to his delighfulness by Harry Hill's TV Burps showing Louie's absolute love for dance. How great would this guy be on a night out! Also, I have heard that he is going to be a guest on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross... HOW EXCITING!

All The Young Dudes.

I have seen and read so many interviews with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant that I want to go see this. Just watched the trailer and it looks utterly delightful!

Plus, it has made me develop a crush on Stephen Merchant...

An Aladdin's Cave Of Gorgeousness..

On reading last week my FAVOURITE magazine Grazia, I have come to enjoy the Living section in which they look at the interior of young designers/creative types homes. In this issue they were looking into the home of interior stylist Gemma Ahern, whose sister owns the pretty interior bouitque in London's Islington, Atelier Abigail Ahern. Gemma's home is decked out in all of the beautiful unique pieces that her sister's shop has to offer.

I would absolutely love to own some of these exquisite items and shall definately be visiting the boutique when I am next in London.
